About The Author

Sheri Wiggins

Sheri Wiggins is a devoted mother of four and grandmother of seven and has lived in Appalachia for over thirty years. Her love for the Appalachian Region and its history, and a desire to write, together have been her inspiration for this book. As a child and young teenager she wrote short stories as gifts for family and friends and was encouraged by her eighth grade English teacher to pursue writing. For the last thirty odd years she has spent many days enjoying the North Carolina mountains around Boone and Blowing Rock and driving the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Like Maggie the mountains give her strength, rejuvenate her spirit and inspire her creativity.
